Global demand for passenger and freight trains is expected to more than double by 2050 due to railroads’ low carbon emissions. To help railroads improve efficiency and scalability, Duos Technologies built a trackside portal using AI to inspect trains traveling over 125 mph and flag any rail car issues in real-time.
Solution
Duos partnered with Dell Technologies and built the Railcar Inspection Portal (rip®) with Dell PowerEdge servers. The trackside data center runs AI algorithms at the edge that inspect 360-degree images of every car in a train as it travels through a rip®. PowerEdge servers also enable AI model training in a central data center.

To realize the promise of GenAI, it sought to follow a unified approach that would allow caregivers to act more quickly to save lives and be more effective in helping patients.
Solution
The organization collaborated with the Dell Technologies AI Innovation Lab and NVIDIA to create a GenAI solution to run multimodal large language models, designed as a cluster of four Dell PowerEdge XE9680 servers, each equipped with eight NVIDIA H100 GPUs and deployed on premises.

In order to bridge the language gap for residents of Amarillo, Dell Professional Services consulted Assistant City Manager and CIO Rich Gagnon and his team on the creation of a GenAI digital assistant with the ability to communicate in multiple languages.
Solution
Residents can access information through Emma, the GenAI digital assistant that lives on the city’s website.
Impact
The large language model serves a city in which 24% of residents do not speak English, bringing more effective and efficient disbursement of important information for all residents, regardless of their native language.
